Know these cold
- Type 1 hypervisors run on bare metal: VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, Proxmox. Type 2 run on a host OS: VirtualBox, VMware Workstation.
- Cloud models: IaaS (VMs), PaaS (app platform), SaaS (managed app). Deployment: public, private, hybrid, community.
- Containerization: Docker containers share the host OS kernel — more lightweight than VMs but less isolated.
