Know these cold

  1. Common errors: missing DLL (reinstall app or runtime), access denied (run as admin or fix permissions), compatibility mode (right-click Properties → Compatibility).
  2. Tools: Event Viewer Application log (crash details), Task Manager (kill hung process), sfc /scannow (system files), DISM (repair component store).
  3. Windows updates: WSUS for enterprise patch management; update failures → check Windows Update logs in Event Viewer.
